The Entrance to Black Beach

You stand at the entrance to a vast cavern. Spreading gently out to
the north and south, its far side is lost in the darkness, far to the
west. Most of the cave is filled by the Black Lake, a huge, cold,
underground lake. The beach is covered with a fine gravel, stained
black by the lake's waters. To the west you see the shoreline, and a
small bay. A putrid stench comes from the north.
