You were asked for a password when you logged on. Remember what you
choose, and choose something not easily guessed because this is all that
stands between you and another person playing your character. If you
want to change that password, type HELP PASSWORD for instructions.

You were asked to choose a class when you logged on. There are several
classes available, but can in general be divided into those that use
magic and those that do not. Most MUDs have at least 2 magic classes: the
Mage and the Cleric. And most have at least 2 non-magic classes that rely
on physical prowess: the Thief and the Warrior. All have their strengths
and weaknesses, and some are more difficult to play than others. In
general, I would suggest the new player choose either an Ogre or Giant
Warrior or perhaps a Human Mage.
