the light of a reclaimed soul

Worn: <used as light> (Powerful magic) (Glowing) the light of a reclaimed soul
Long Description A glowing bit of light wavers here, holding all the colors of a desert opal.

Look Soul:
When the winged God of the desert Tribes, an Immortal she still feared and did
not worship, was broken and dying, Samiyah willingly offered up a piece of her
soul to help him live, despite of his past cruelties to her. It was the right
thing - the good thing - to do. Her gift restored him. Over time, he won over
the bard, gaining her trust, faith and loyalty, and her vow of worship when he
regained his prior place among the gods. For a long time, she was his pride, a
bright star amongst his Fallen Angels. But a day came when their paths were no
longer one: a choice made between honor and obedience. The bright spark that a
desert girl had given to sustain a God was cruelly cast upon the floor, kicked
away as trash and named worthless. Despite the ill-treatment, here it steadily
glows, reclaimed. It determinedly shines a light on all around it, a reminder
to her that a message she gave to another -- that hope and joy last as long as
they are given the chance to - is just as true for herself, as well. That what
has been discarded by one, is still treasured by another. And that despite all
that has been, and all that is, only she can choose what she will be.

the unbreakable bonds of family

(written for Cresom on the occasion of his (RL) dad's passing - he gifted it to Sami upon retirement)
Long desc : One can only Admire the way that the love of family goes on and on, unbreakable.
Look Look glow love bonds family
Shining, clear, and bright, the glow of a love that a family has for one another
illuminates the entire area. Although spirit departs flesh, it yet shines on, an
eternal presence and force in the lives of those it has touched.

an intricately braided band of silver

Worn: <worn on finger> (Artifact magic) an intricately braided band of silver
Long Description: Exquisitely silken silver hair has been woven into a thirteen plait braided band.

Look BAND
The delicacy of the craftsmanship of this braided band is enough to take your
breath away. Long, shimmering strands of hair - far too exquisite to be from
a human head - have been plaited into a perfect circle, made to snugly fit on
the finger of a certain desert girl.

Look HAIR
The sensuality of the softness and texture of the hair this ring is woven from
has not been lost in any way, by being used to craft the band. It is like silk
from the finest weavers of Cillidellia, warm and caressing upon the finger. It
calls to mind the gentle caress of a girl, reaching up to brush back an errant
lock from her hero's face.

Look SILVER
Sliding a fingertip over the shining length of this woven band, a strong image
flares like a suddenly lit lantern in your mind: A vampire, standing still and
silent within a dark Cave, asks quietly, 'Are you sure?' At your trembling nod,
his hands cup your head, drawing you closer, and his skilled lips brush yours,
gently teaching you the meaning and passion of a kiss. As he bends his head, a
cascade of silver surrounds you - the antithesis to Seraph's sable wings - his
knee-length hair flowing over your face and shoulders. Each and every time you
would see it from that moment forward, it is this memory, as it formed a haven
around you during his kiss, that would burn in your heart and make your cheeks
flush scarlet.

Look WIND
Bonded, bound, silvery night to your golden sun, the image of Wind, known by
others as Ghazkull Mahsong, sings in your mind's eye. His grave expression,
wounded and sorrowed, as he severs a lock of his hair, giving it to you as a
token, burns into you. His exquisite hazel gaze bores into you, and his soft
voice pledges: "I will be with you in bond always. Your pain is my pain, and
my strength is your strength. I endure it with you, always."

(Bound) a bow of sisal and sable ribbon

Worn: <worn on finger> (Moderate magic) (Bound) a bow of sisal and sable ribbon
Long Description: Entwined lengths of sisal twine and a sable ribbon are bound into reminders.

Look SISAL RIBBON
Two more opposite materials can hardly be imagined. One strand is of sisal --
a natural, coarse fiber used in ropes on sailing vessels. This particular bit
was part of a belt worn by a certain sailor's child. It serves as a reminder
of a treasured friendship. The sight of it gives rise to memories of times up
in the arms of a tree, crunching on apples. The second strand is a lightless
sable, smooth and slick to the touch. It was given - along with an evil grin
and a teasing admonishment that the wearer consult her Kindred advisor before
undertaking on any dangerous adventures, by another, equally valued friend --
one more prone to shadowy mist and hurling of fiery rocks, but equally fond of
the peace to be found in a tree. The two materials entwine and wrap around the
finger of the desert bard, tied off with a small bow.

an onyx band wreathed in starlight

(written by DarkClaw)

Long description: A small dark ring sparkles here.
worn description: (Moderate magic) an onyx band wreathed in starlight
Look ONYX BAND STARLIGHT
This ring was undoubtedly crafted to catch the eye and beguile its onlooker. Twin
bands of starlight grace the edges in complete circles, almost mesmerizing as they
shimmer with each movement of its wearer, and would indeed be blinding in any larger
quantity. It could be said that its creator intended to make an unspoken message,
relaying that even the stars are within grasp.

a delicate necklace of stars and moons

(Created for the Kindred Masquerade)

Worn Description: <worn around neck> (Moderate magic) a delicate necklace of stars and moons
Long Description: A thin silver chain supports small pendants of stars and moons.

LOOK NECKLACE:
Of Elven craftsmanship to be sure, this delicate piece of jewelry would
enclose the throat of the wearer fairly closely. The links are open and
intricate, and every three, a tiny pendant hangs: stars of five points,
interspersed with a crescent moon.

LOOK STARS
Each star has been set with a tiny circle of moonstone, and something
about their placement and position, some dangling from fragile chains,
reminds you of the constellation of the Lovers, as seen from the view-
point of the topmost spire of Cillidellia.

LOOK MOON
Each moon is silver, edged in luminous platinum to create a shimmering
and subtle contrast that only the most keen-eyed could discern. Song,
so faint as to be thought an illusion, whispers across your senses:

. Silver crescent
. glowing, pure -
. a bond
. a love
. that yet endures...

a tribal-style necklace of lapis and opal pendants

Worn: <worn around neck> (Glowing) a tribal-style necklace of lapis and opal pendants
Long Description: Three teardrop pendants of lapis and opal hang from each plaque of this collar.

LOOK NECKLACE:
Rectangular plaques of silver, intricately carved with arabesques, have been
sewn onto a band of sapphire velvet to protect the wearer's skin. Crafted to
fit quite closely, it would perfectly encircle the throat. Hanging from each
of the plaques is a trio of teardrop-shaped pendants. The outer two are just
a touch smaller and are a glowing, gold-touched lapis. The center droplet is
a luminous greenish-gold opal. Runes have been carved into each gemstone, in
the flowing script of the tribal tongue, entwined with Elvish runes.

LOOK RUNES:
The runes read the same in both languages, each line interwoven and entwined with
the other, as it tells the tale:

Sister to Brother
Bound by blood
Bound by love

Set to a task
Enchantment to gain
Vision obtain

The world explored
Elements found
Earth to earth bound

LOOK LAPIS OPAL
The gemstones used in this necklace are of the highest quality. Stones
such as this can only be found deep within the Eastern Desert, mined a
piece at a time, by hand, by the tribesfolk who make it their home.

a sand-washed silk robe of soft desert hues

Long Description: All of the hues of the desert sunrise shimmer within the silk of this robe.
Worn Description: <worn on body> (Potent magic) a sand-washed silk robe of soft desert hues

LOOK ROBE:
Soft and luxurious to the touch, sandwashed silk has been used to make a robe
of unsurpassed beauty. With its square, Mandarin collar, the front placket is
modestly held closed by a dozen small rosewood buttons, each inlaid with tiny
circles of moonstone. Long, full sleeves are drawn in at a wide cuff, keeping
the garment from getting in the way during combat. Embroidery in a dusky rose
shade covers the bodice of the robe, in a swirling pattern that resembles the
dunes of a desert or perhaps swathes of thick, concealing mist - or both. It
is of modest length, and while feminine of cut, the curves beneath are merely
gracefully hinted at, rather than put on a blatant display. A full hem makes
this garment perfectly suited for dancing.

LOOK SILK HUES
The silk of this robe is a thick, lush sand-washed silk. The matte finish
seems to draw in and dampen the light, unlike the more common glossy silk
found most everywhere. This must have been specially commissioned from an
expert weaver - most likely one of Sombra's apprentices. The fabric holds
each and every one of the colors of a desert sunrise, from golden yellow,
to soft mauve, to dusty rose, embracing the wearer in the warmth of dawn.

LOOK DAWN:
One unusual deepening sliver of color appears on the back of the robe: a
subtle misty grayish tone. Like a cloud-picture, the shape resolves for
only a brief moment, into a tall, elven figure, vigilantly watching until
the dawn, represented by a swirl of hues and embroidery, intrudes.

loose trousers of green linen with muddy hems

Worn Description: <worn on legs>(Potent magic) loose trousers of green linen with muddy hems
Long Description: Mud weighs down the hems of these soft, loose trousers of deep green linen.

Look trousers:
Made in the tribal style - a drawstring-cinched waist, with wide, loose
legs that conceal the form of the wearer - these trousers look comfy. A
band of darker color marks where the fabric has been dampened by thick,
flowing mist. To be so saturated, the wearer would have had to spend a
great deal of time there. Mud clings to the soggy hems, evidence of the
many roads traveled.

Look linen:
The fabric of these trousers is a medium-weight, strong yet soft linen,
of the type favored by the tribes. Warm enough for cold desert nights,
yet comfortable in even the full heat of noon, they are resistant to a
thorny bramble, the butting horns of a hungry young goat or a mis-cast
fish hook at the end of a willow pole.

Look mist mists:
Ephemeral tendrils of mist yet cling to the moist fabric of the hems of
these trousers, in an entirely mystical, magical, sorcerous and utterly
non-natural way. They must be imbued with Kindred magic...

Look mud:
Grains of desert sand intermingle with silty Sava River mud, layered on
graveyard dust. Flecks of tree bark, clumps of grey, ashen soil from a
town plagued by a curse and even a tiny bit of snow, weigh down the hem
of these trousers, evidence of her far travels.

Look Green:
With a hue that perfectly matches the top side of the leaves that grace
the sylvan trees of Loth-Llorien, these trousers are a deep, vivid green.

elven-style boots made of Onyx dragonhide

Long Description: The impossible-to-obtain hide of the Onyx Dragon has been used for boots!
Worn: <worn on feet> (Potent magic) elven-style boots made of Onyx dragonhide

Look BOOTS:
The fearsome creature that lurks beneath the Riverdale Plantation has
brought about many an adventurer's death. Yet, despite its claws or a
horrific blast of gas from its gaping maw, it has been defeated twice
in single combat by the Eldest of Kindred - his potent sorcery, blade,
and spells a match for the wyrm. After he had its tough hide stitched
into a bag, some bits and pieces were left over. These were gifted to
a certain desert bard in the form of a pair of lovely and sturdy knee
height boots. A black-on-black pattern of an ancient tree, the model
for which is in Sanguinna, climbs up the side of the boot. Buttons in
the shape of a crescent moon cupped around a daisy fasten them closed.

delicate patterns of mehndi framing her scars

Long Description: Sacred patterns and arabesques of henna are made to grace dusky skin.

LOOK PATTERNS:
Arabesques and floral patterns frame, rather than conceal, a scar bisecting
the palm of the bearer: Oath of sisterhood, sworn in faith, forever makes a
tribe of two. They continue down the hand, encircle the wrist, and honor a
set of punctures, stark white against dusky skin, left by a Kindred's Kiss.
These two scars mark her forever - sister and Bonded - honored by the oaths
of those she values most.

matching arm-cuffs of silver and moonstone

Long DescriptioN: A pair of arm cuffs lies here, made of silver with accents of moonstone.
Worn Description: <worn on arms> (Moderate magic) matching arm-cuffs of silver and moonstone

LOOK CUFFS:
These arm-cuffs are clearly of desert manufacture, in both style and material.
The design is abstract, with sweeping curves reminiscent of wind-swept dunes.
An opalescent crescent of moonstone is the sole ornamentation.

the protection of the night

(written by Nicholai)

Worn Description: <worn about body> (Moderate magic) the protection of the night
Long Description: Absorbing all light around it, a pile of darkness lies here.

Look night:
You feel a sense of peace and solace in her presence.

Look Darkness:
Woven of pure darkness extracted from the night, this cloak
protects you from harm while imbuing you with the
strength of the kindred. A gift from a friend mysterious
and elusive as darkness itself, wearing it provides you with
a sense that he is near, even when unseen.

Look friend:
He is the darkness and the mist, everywhere and nowhere at once.

Look kindred:
The longing to be near, the twinge in your wrist,
wearing this cloak helps to alleviate the pain.

a wide, fringed sash of sunset-hued linen

Long Description: A long fringed length of linen, the hues of a desert sunset, lies here.
Worn Description: <worn on arms> (Moderate magic) a wide, fringed sash of sunset-hued linen

LOOK SASH:
With an arabesque pattern reminiscent of stars of deep plum overlaying
the variegated hues of a desert sunset, this sash is clearly of desert-
make. Fringe decorates both ends: a deep midnight blue that is about a
hand's span long. If only this sash had a small pocket or two to tuck
treasures into, it would be perfect.

a cuff bracelet of bronze and golden amber

Long Description: A sun-in-glory made of golden amber glows upon the surface of this bronze cuff.
Worn Description: <worn around wrist> (Moderate magic) a cuff bracelet of bronze and golden amber

LOOK CUFF BRACELET
Arabesques mimicking the sun's rays curve outward in radiant pennants
from a large cabochon of rutilated amber upon this wide cuff bracelet.
It is a highly polished pale bronze, and variations within the metal,
through care in its forging, seem to emulate the undulating curves of
the sandy desert dunes. Engraving on the surface replicates the henna
patterns inked on the skin beneath, creating multiple layers of motif
that fascinate the eye. Though wide, it is not heavy, but seems a bit
more sturdy where it passes over the vulnerable pulse point, as if to
guard from the assaulting penetration of unwelcome fangs -- though an
decrescent-shaped clasp to one side would allow swift removal, should
a Kindred's attentions be welcome...

LOOK CLASP
The clasp is simple in design, contrasting the complexity of the motifs
elsewhere on this cuff bracelet. A decrescent moon of misty-pale silver
catches and holds to a daisy to form the closure. The mechanism is set
such that it would be awkward for anyone but the wearer to remove it --
never by chance or accident -- only by deliberate action.

LOOK DAISY:
The daisy represented in metal on this bracelet is a simple, common
flower, with slightly crushed and imperfect petals. It lays within
the protection of a decrescent moon.

a braid of dried sage, salt and incense

Long Description : Salt crystals nestle within a braid of dried sage and sacred incense.
Worn Description : (Moderate Magic) a braid of dried sage, salt and incense

LOOK BRAID:
As thin as a bangle bracelet, twin strands of dried, long leaf sage entwine
with a single flexible thread of holy incense, gathered from the shadows of
N'Kai. Scattered like gems between the filaments, large salt crystals catch
the light. Together, these three elements create a potent ritual object. No
negativity can withstand the purifying essence of sage. No fear can endure
the cleansing of peaceful enlightenment. No ill-intent cannot be bound into
impotency by salt. Together, they allow the wearer to stand fearless, calm,
and centered -- even in the face of that which must be opposed, to her last
breath or beat of heart. That it was given by the one to whom he gives oath,
She who leads the Lost and has offered her love and support, is not lost on
the wearer.

LOOK SAGE:
Though dried, the sage still holds some of the delicacy and softness of its
natural state. A whispered spell binds it from breaking. Only the Lady who
picked it from the base of a mighty oak, nestled in amongst violets planted
above a grave, knows its source.

LOOK INCENSE:
Gathered from the shadowed depths of N'Kai, this incense is borne by one of
the creatures there. It has been used, to great success, to rid a holy spot
of the foul taint of a defiling presence. Here, it grants enlightenment in
times of stress and worry, allowing calm and peace to replace fear or panic.
Its rich scent calls to mind sacred temples to long ago gods, and the faith
of one who is dear to the wearer.

LOOK SALT:
These large crystals of salt are clearly of the kind only found where sand
meets sea. Harvested from the shoreline of the Vast Sea where it persists
in its battle against the dunes of the desert, each one is nearly as large
as a pea. Here and there, a tenacious grain of sand clings.

the scent of almonds and the desert winds

Worn Description: the scent of almonds and the desert winds
Long Description: The air stirs here, bearing the scent of sand and almond groves.
Look scent almonds wind
The warm air swirls around you, bearing the scent of sun-heated sand,
the warmth of the palms, and a hint of sweetness from a distant grove
of exotic almonds.

the marks of a vampire's kiss

Worn Description: the marks of a vampire's kiss
Long Description: A pair of perfectly round scars are a potent reminder of a vampire's kiss.
Look Bite kiss marks
A vision sweeps over you:
His pale hands cup your dusky wrist, lifting it with grace and gentleness.
A quiet murmur: "Are you sure?" At your tremulous nod, he lifts it higher,
His lips part, fangs bared. Topaz eyes hold yours as he bites, and a sweet
pain washes over you, chased away by the sensation of warm honey suffusing
your veins. He drinks silently, breaking away just as you do not think you
can bear it any more. A respectful kiss - the slightest touch of tongue -
and the wound is closed, and a bond solidified.

the enduring scars of a Kindred's bonding kiss

Worn Description: <worn with pride> (Weak magic) the enduring scars of a Kindred's bonding kiss
Long Description: A pair of perfectly round scars upon her throat are a potent reminder of a Kiss.
LOOK SCARS BOND
 A vision sweeps over you:
"Samiyah...I thank you."
A bejeweled cup is lifted to his hungry mouth and he drinks... Your blood
is the catalyst of his Change, his Awakening, and it is the first link in
the chain that will bind you together.
. . .
His pale hands cup your dusky wrist, lifting it with grace and gentleness.
A quiet murmur: "Are you sure?" At your tremulous nod, he lifts it higher,
His lips part, fangs bared. Hazel eyes hold yours as he bites, and a sweet
pain washes over you, chased away by the sensation of warm honey suffusing
your veins. He drinks silently, breaking away just as you do not think you
can bear it any more. A respectful kiss - the slightest touch of tongue -
and the wound is closed, and a bond solidified.
. . .
"I need you." "Do you need me now?" "Yes. And tomorrow, too. And the day
after that, as well." The moon washes the amphitheater with a silver hue
as he rushes to you. Standing, you move into his arms, as naturally as a
wave washes into the shore. You sweep your hair to one side, and plead:
"Wind..please?" His voice is hoarse: "As long as you are sure?" His lips
press lightly to your forehead, then find your throat. Teasingly, fangs
graze, then suddenly pierce your flesh, and the Bond becomes unbreakable.

LOOK KISS REMINDER
As your gaze falls upon the scars upon dusky skin, a wracking, shuddering
wave of pleasure crashes over you -- the potent memory of the pleasure of
his bite. An involuntary gasp escapes your lips and your knees grow weak.

a dusky desert opal Thread

Worn Description: <worn with pride> (Weak magic) (Glowing) a dusky desert opal Thread
Long Description: When a Thread is Bound tightly: does it corrupt? or does it become corrupted?

 LOOK THREAD
Was it was close associations with the Lost and Hunt? The repairs done
to her shattered soul by her Machiavelian father, or a connection to a
sentient evil artifact of death? Was it her eager willingness to share
her blood to save another? Or was it simply the inescapable transition
from girl to woman? Whatever the root cause, the Thread of Samiyah is
no longer the pure, radiant desert opal it once was. Dusky sunset hues
stain it, like a veil of shadow, proof of the changes within her. Too
long, she has embraced the Night in metaphor and reality: she sees the
Moon even when the Sun shines above. Her thoughts take dark turns and
violence sometimes becomes the answer that comes to mind - where once,
flight was all that she knew. Now she knows the meaning of cruelty and
of icy silence and the lengths that one might go to feed a Hunger that
burns within. Yet, the glowing hues remain at her Thread's core, deep
within, forever polished to brightness by adversity.
