Official Information

This piercing weapon - and it's sister, Seretas the Dark Snake Whip, was created by Khore, as the prize for the first Golem Wars. Won by the Dark, it was carried by several members of that following. It was gifted to Silence, the Ordained of the Dark, who was then slain by Solaron, Huntsman of the Wyld Hunt, along with a partner. Solaron then asked Khore for a quest to have the sword transformed into something he could wield. This request was granted, a quest offered, and completed. Imbued with sentience and great power, Similus was wielded by Solaron for well over one hundred mortal slayings.

Eventually, the weapon returned to the Dark. At this time, the name of the weapon was changed to "Similus, Mace of Suriel" (restring below written by Kerriariadne). It was given into the hands of Seraph, their Ordained "Dark Suriel." There, too, Similus drank deeply of the blood and lives of mortals.

Similus, Mace of Suriel
A brutal weapon lies here, capable of dispensing the Punitive Truth to any mortal in its way.

Look Truth:
Won by three Glorious Darklings in a quest from the Great Toothy One Himself, Lord Khore,
this weapon was lost and again found. With his last breath shall it ever be yielded to
another again, so sayeth Seraph, Dark Suriel, Arch-Angel of Darkness.

Player Provided Information

Similus was mentioned by Solaron in his announcement of intent to change alignments as a Deity, setting aside the Mafia and embracing the Children of Light: "My life has been filled with treasures, both tangible and ephemeral. Loves I have had; Katrana, Tylin, Miressa. Power was mine when I wielded Similus, weapon of the Huntsman for my lady Katrana. I have known times of war, times of peace and the friendship of heroes and villains alike."

Similus has passed through many hands since it's creation, most recently from Hedschott, to Teva when the Inquisitor retired.

Similus was the focus of a quest given by Wish to Samiyah: The Soul Stealer's Strategy

The Tale of Similus, Mace of Suriel

(Log by Samiyah, made on 04/03/2013)

The Storytelling Amphitheater
[Exits: west]
(Invis 71) (Intense Dark Red Aura) [GS] Kerriariadne is here.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

Kerriariadne bows deeply.
Kerriariadne bows gallantly.

Kerriariadne says, 'I was very much hoping Seraph would not leave, but he did...before I could present myself.'.

You say (in common), 'He will be returning'.

Seithr arrives from the west.

Kerriariadne says, 'sheesh'.

Seithr blushes.

Kerriariadne pokes Seithr in the ribs.

Seithr says (in common), 'My apologies.'.

Kerriariadne says, 'It seems there is a gap in information about the Dark's most famous weapon.'.

Kerriariadne says, 'I wish the information corrected.'.

Kerriariadne grins evilly.

Samiyah gets a look of both intense fear and curiosity in her eyes.

Seithr blinks at Kerriariadne, seemingly stunned.

Kerriariadne says, 'An age and an eon ago, there was a toothy immortal in our lore...named Khore.'.

Samiyah clasps her shaking hands and sits, listening.

Kerriariadne says, 'Khore held a contest. We know this contest as the first of the Golem Wars.'.

Seithr finds a seat and listens intently, eager for knowledge.

Kerriariadne says, 'If memory serves -- and it does -- two followings won. My chocolate-addicted friend, Bliss, and yours truly.'.

Kerriariadne bows gallantly.
Kerriariadne says, 'We were given prizes.'.
Kerriariadne says, 'a bat necklace each (5dmg)'.
Kerriariadne says, 'a large container - a bat knapsack or some such... 50 kg, I believe'.

Seithr scrunches her face. "What is it with vampires and bats?"

Kerriariadne says, 'and each received a weapon... Suriel and sister Seretas.'.
Kerriariadne says, 'Suriel was a sword - more particularly a piercer.'.

Kerriariadne says, 'It was given to a handful of my Darklings, but eventually landed with Silence, upon his ordainment.'.

Someone draws a cold, frosty beer for Kerriariadne.

Kerriariadne says, 'I won't go into detail the slightly less than perfect wisdom of my decision...'.

Kerriariadne hugs someone.

Kerriariadne grins evilly.

Someone grins mischievously.

You say (in common), 'Hello, Lord Boromir'.

Lycron has granted you the ability to see him when he is invis.

Kerriariadne says, 'close...'.

Samiyah blushes, ducking her head and concealing her face in one of the layers of her veil.

Kerriariadne winks suggestively at you.

You say (in common), 'er, bad guess'.

Lycron grins mischievously.
Lycron says, 'wrong grin'.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.

Lycron smiles at you.

Seithr says (in common), 'Good evening.'.
Seithr beams a smile at Lycron.

Kerriariadne says, 'Silence became my ordained, and he bore this piercer.'.

Lycron says, 'evening'.

Kerriariadne says, 'Then, the disgrace to my race that was Solaron, pk'd Silence with the aid of another.'.

Seithr winces. Ouch!

Kerriariadne says, 'Solaron quested and had the weapon morphed into one he could wield.'.

Samiyah swallows hard, her eyes swimming with shadows of suppressed memories.

Seithr says (in common), 'So...the weapon remains with Solaron?'.

You shake your head.
You say (in common), 'No. From his hands, it passed to Seraph's. And from Seraph's, to others, still... then to Hedschott.... And lastly to Teva.'.

Seithr says (in common), 'Teva is its holder now?'.

You say (in common), '.. yes.'.

Seithr frowns.
Seithr says (in common), 'It should be with one of Kerriariadne's own...not with him.'.

Samiyah's expression is clouded with pain at how this knowledge was gained.

Kerriariadne says, 'Why so, Samiyah?'.

You say (in common), 'What the Sahib Kerri did not say... is that the weapon changed names to "Similus, Mace of Suriel".. when it was reformed.. and it is ... alive.'.

Kerriariadne grins evilly.

Seithr blinks and raises an eyebrow. "...Alive? Alive how?"

You say (in common), ‘It has a soul. It remembers. It drinks. It .. changes the one that wields it. It makes them more-than-they-were...'.

Kerriariadne says, 'The most famous weapon of the Dark, surprises me not it has attained a life its own.'.

Seithr says (in common), 'How is that possible?!'.

Samiyah says softly, 'That I do not know. But I have .. ' She swallows hard. '.. met... Similus.'

You say (in common), 'I was on a quest, to gain access to those artifacts that were once wielded by the Sahib, Seraph. One by one, I found them. The last, and most dangerous, was Similus.'.

Seithr says (in common), 'You...were attacked by its wielder?'.

You say (in common), 'Yes.. I have been struck by it, but.. I also ... after questing.. was permitted to touch it, along with his shield and his helm.'.

Seithr shakes her head, looking rather disturbed. "That weapon should NOT be in the hands of a mortal! Not if what you say is true!"

You say (in common), 'Solaron has the helm. One named Zephyr has the shield. They still exist, Sahib Kerriariadne - that may please You to know.'.

Kerriariadne says, 'Indeed.'.

You say (in common), 'I do not know if it is me, or if it is the artifacts, or as Wish says, it is my belief in the Sahib... but when I touch them, they show me things. When I touched Similus...'.

Seithr shudders visibly. "I would not dare touch something of that nature."

Samiyah bites her lip and bows her head.
You say (in common), 'I have caused myself to forget, using a special lyrical. I am told that it nearly killed me. That it broke my mind and shattered my soul, and that only the Sahib's care and gift restored me to any semblance of sanity. I have been told that I could not sleep for fear of the dreams, and people thought me a crazed person.'.

Her voice is troubled, uneasy.

Seithr says (in common), 'Can an immortal not reclaim the weapon and keep it from mortal hands?'.

You say (in common), 'Wish could if He chose, I would think, but it is very, very powerful. '.

Kerriariadne nods.
Kerriariadne snickers softly.

Seithr nods quickly. "Then our task should be to convince Lord Wish that it is detriment that he do so."

You say (in common), 'Sahib had me "dance" with Teva, to get close enough to capture that spark of His soul that was still in the weapon.... but Similus has its own soul, too.'.

Her inflection makes clear that the 'dance' had nothing to do with music and much to do with violence. Her expression as she speaks about the weapon looks rather like a recovered addict, speaking of that which they have given up, and still crave and fear.

Kerriariadne says, 'Similus has claimed many a soul - I would venture this continual accumulation has led to a collective consciousness of its own.'.

Samiyah says softly, 'Similus ...hates...'

You say (in common), 'more than anything else.. it hates, and it thirsts.'.

Kerriariadne says with a grin, "A blood lust, spawned by an eon of carnage."

Seithr bites her lip and watches Samiyah worriedly, "There is more than enough hatred without something like that wielded by man. I can't imagine what it would
feel like to hold such a thing."'.

Samiyah shivers at Kerriariadne's grin, remembering it echoed so many times on Seraph's face.

Seithr abruptly turns and walks to the archway, then calls over her shoulder. "I go to seek out Lord Wish. Time is of great importance."
Seithr leaves west.
