"Lately"

(Log by Cordir)
Cordir: If Wish spoke to me the way you often do, Seraph, I would tie his tentacles in a knot and drop him in Molotov.

Wish: which brings a new definition to the phrase "oooo kinky!"

Seraph: deep fried sea food
Seraph: I talk to you with the up most respect Cordir

Seraph tells you, 'are we in char?'.
You tell Seraph, 'I am :)'.
You tell Seraph, 'ooc I have no prob with seraph'.

Cordir: except for the parts that you think I am blind and unable to read the Pattern

Seraph: it's not my fault the world is black and white to you
Seraph: as I said the other day step away from the threads and look around

Cordir: (clarification: I have been speaking IC )

Cordir: *wearily* Nothing is ever your fault, Seraph.

Seraph: oh plenty is my fault

Cordir: But yet only yesterday you claimed yourself without harm to anyone...

Seraph: lately
Seraph: you forgot "lately"

Cordir: praytell detail your faults.

Seraph: well I tricked people for their souls used fear to get what I want
Seraph: threaten dc for souls
Seraph: turned people against their gods
Seraph: and now I just walk with the mortals
Seraph: so lately I have done nothing

Cordir: see? the very picture of innocence.

Wish: Persuasion can't be called nothing, Seraph...

Seraph: how do I do that wish

Wish: The same way everyone does...by talking...

Seraph: you yourself said a have as much power as your house plant

Wish: That's true...i am rather proud of that line.

Seraph: I think you guys give me way to much credit

Wish: No, I don't give you too much credit, Seraph

Seraph: that's good wish

Wish: But, I will say this...I am really curious to know what will happen if your toys are all destroyed

Seraph: do it and find out

Wish: I am going to start with the Similus and work my way to the others...but of course getting the others may be hard/
Wish: *shrug* I have time

Seraph: let me know when you eat Similus I would like that
Seraph: to watch Teva cry as you eat Similus
Seraph: would be worth it

Wish: hahah...Teva has already agreed.

Cordir: what are you two talking about ?

Seraph: destroying my old eq

Wish: Teva has no real need for it anyways
Wish: and he is just as curious as I am

Seraph: then please eat it

Wish: Well, I am never hasty, Seraph
Wish: In due time, it shall be done

Seraph: cause changing the name still makes it similis

Wish: and, if I can get my hands on the other items, those shall be destroyed as well

Seraph: good luck with that

Cordir: *frowns slightly, perusing the Tapestry*

Seraph: nothing will happen to me but to see wish destroy something for nothing would be worth it
Seraph: just think what would happen to the threads
Seraph: damn now I'm wondering

Wish: Well, perhaps nothing my happen to you, Seraph...but something may happen to me!
Wish: Which is exactly what I suspect.

Seraph: might gain knowledge of my life

Wish gossips, 'Cya later TFC!'.

Wish: bbl folks

Seraph: what do you think, Cordir?

Cordir: Interesting.
Cordir: None of it is against Tynian's Law so I may not act or interfere.
Cordir: But .. this entanglement... I shall be watching.

Seraph: I didn't ask you to interfere -- I asked what do you think?

Cordir: It is rare that I see an object with a soul.

Seraph: maybe wish changed it to seem like it does

Cordir: No. Similus has a Thread. it is sentient and aware and that.. is abomination.

Seraph: oh. may I see it?

Cordir: It is .. tangled.

Seraph: oh with?

Cordir: Bound to your little mouse.

Seraph: oh

Cordir: and to you. and to Solaron. and to Teva.

Seraph: odd

Cordir: it ... bears further study.

Seraph: no it doesn't
Seraph: its best left alone
Seraph: and please don't say mouse. She has a name. It's Samiyah

Cordir: *laughs* if there is a thing you wish ignored, Seraph, then surely it is of interest

Seraph: no look all you like cordir
Seraph: but some things are best left untouched
Seraph: but you are wise and powerful so how can any harm come to you

Cordir: *dryly* I shall be sure to take your advice with all seriousness, Seraph.

Seraph: so please dig deep

A Wyldess Listens

(Log by Katrana)
Seraph tells you, 'need to speak to me about anything?'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'I wanted to speak to you about your tinkering with creating and destroying souls. I've heard rumors, and seen Threads that have been tampered with.'.

Seraph tells you, 'destroying souls? I have done no such thing'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'Taken them over? Consumed them?'.

Seraph tells you, 'they are given!'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'Given freely? Knowing the full consequences?'.

Seraph tells you, 'I played a game - and told them the price if they lost'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'Have you ever seen the affect of a Thread that has been tampered with?'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'As a Thread and as their actions?'.

Seraph tells you, 'what worries you? do you think I would come for one of your hunt?'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'I hope you know better than to come after one of Mine.

Seraph tells you, 'everything changes, Mistress of the Wyld'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'I know of change. I know more of change than many will ever know.'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'but a Thread, and it's being...are things that I never wish to see changed forcibly.'.

Seraph tells you, 'then why fight change?'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'Because I fight to keep the sanctity of who these people are and what they will become naturally.'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'To manipulate them, whether or not they understand the consequences.'.

Seraph tells you, 'I will bring no harm to your --- what do you call them? Cuddlies'.
Seraph tells you, 'your hound Sagan - his soul entwined with another'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'I do not believe you would lie to me...but what of those who have none to watch them.'.

Seraph tells you, 'I give them choices'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'With a brutally honest understanding of what will occur? What they are giving up? How they will change?'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'It changes who they *are*'.

Seraph tells you, 'they know what they ask'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'Yes, my Hound...my Hounds were manipulated by a shard...a fragment. I almost lost them both. '.

Seraph tells you, 'I can fix him'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'You may be able to...but to bring back Ashendarei? To split two Threads that have merged? What does that mean to the memories?'.

Seraph tells you, 'they will share the same memories - but new ones they will not share'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'I just don't know. They are one within the Pattern now...I have them both. It is so dangerous.'.

Seraph tells you, 'Mistress......Kat ... I served you. I still have your symbol around my wrist. Harming Sagan is the last thing I would do'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'I believe you. I would need to talk to Sagan...I'm not sure his thoughts on the matter. At the same point. I need to re-evaluate my stance.'.

Seraph tells you, 'of course take all the time you need'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'You should know though...Samiyah's Thread... her tendencies... have been changed, or rather influenced...by your soul. The desert bardling...the innocence, the naivety... I feel is leaving and will continue to do so.'.

Seraph tells you, 'was I to let her die or save her? what would you have done'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'Were the powers of -heal- or -sanity- not an option?'.

Seraph tells you, 'No. Her soul was shattered. I had to fix it'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'As you know, and hopefully remember, I would do anything to protect Mine.'.

Seraph tells you, 'same with me'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'How could it become so badly shattered? Did something, or someone corrupt her?'.

Seraph tells you, 'being pulled from all directions'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'At the same point where I would do anything to protect mine, if it is time for their Rebirth...it is time. But I have been through someone manipulating and trying to destroy the souls, and remove the Threads of mine. It is terrible...'.

Seraph tells you, 'do you think I am out to do that?'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'Perhaps not you, but others maybe...especially if they are watching or gleaning knowledge from your return. How else would Samiyah have been so shattered?'.

Seraph tells you, 'as I stated everyone pulling her in different directions. Not letting her make her own choices'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'What about her made that happen? I've seen others do the same... Yet they did not shatter as she did.'.

Seraph tells you, 'it seems people are upset I walk with them again and will do anything to make me sleep again. Try looking at the new god - it seems since his rise in power, she has changed'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'I cannot see the future as my Sister can...I tend to thrive in the now...but things will change for you, for Sami...'

Seraph tells you, 'I will remain - what do you guys say? - a powerless god... an abomination was the correct word'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'I did say those things...but I had only heard whispers. As you know...I react as my mood directs me. And sometimes it is not for the better.'.

Seraph tells you, 'maybe people should stop looking at me and look at the Nash god. Samiyah has changed and now he wants to destroy my items. Kinda funny, don't you think?'.

You [GS] tell Seraph, 'An interesting twist indeed'.

Seraph tells you, 'and I will help your hound if you ask me to'.

Rest

(log by Samiyah)

Samiyah tells Aoide (in common), 'where might i find you, Sayyida?'.

Aoide tells Samiyah (in common), 'I am resting in my temple. Do you know where that is?'.

Samiyah tells Aoide (in common), 'May I enter?'.

Aoide tells Samiyah (in common), 'of course'.

Within a Grand Hunting Lodge
[Exits: west]
Massive beams of dark, ancient pine form the walls and ceiling of this enormous
hunting lodge. Trophies hang upon the wall, ranging from a simple twelve point
buck to the scaled head of an ancient red dragon. The chamber is laid out
symmetrically with rows of tressle tables and wide, stone fireplaces to either
side of the main corridor. To either side of the main door, twin staircases
spiral upwards towards the lofts where the hunters who live here take their
rest. The floor is strewn with sweet smelling rushes and fur hide rugs. In the
north-west corner, a small door leads out to the pens and stables. At the far
end of the lodge, a semi-circular raised platform holds the throne of the Lady
Huntress. The scent of a fresh kill and roasting meat fills the air, and the
sound of the hunting-hounds baying causes your blood to rise in your veins,
suffused with an intense joy you cannot explain.
(Red Aura) An enormous, empty black iron cauldron hangs above an unlit firepit.
(Light Red Aura) Lady Aoide, The Grand Finder, is resting here.

Samiyah smiles happily.
Samiyah says (in common), 'Hello'.

Aoide curtseys gracefully for you.
Aoide says (in common), 'Greetings, Samiyah'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Do you have room in a bag?'.

Aoide looks at Samiyah.

Aoide says (in common), 'I do'.
Aoide says (in common), 'what can I hold for you?'.

Samiyah smiles back wearily.

Samiyah gives a flask of bubbly liquid to Aoide.

Aoide puts a flask of bubbly liquid in bag made from Captain Derrick hide.

Aoide says (in common), 'my goodness'.

Aoide says (in common), 'have you not slept yet, Sami?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'For a short time. After I .. um.. helped ... Ghazkull.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'helped?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I did not want to sleep until that was done, in case I could not wake. And the dreams..
are getting very bad, so I try not to sleep.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'how did you...help...Ghazkull?'.

Samiyah says simply, 'He was hungry. And his own people would not feed him.'

Aoide purses her lips.

Aoide says (in common), 'would that not make you...one of his kind?'.

Samiyah's brow furrows as she frowns, looking troubled.
Samiyah says (in common), 'NO!'.

Aoide says (in common), 'or not because he is some sort of inbetween? I admit that I do not know the lore'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'No, I cut my wrist and bled into a cup'.

Aoide says (in common), 'ah - let me see'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'and then the Sa...Lady DarkClaw told me to wait and it spilled onto the floor..'.

Aoide gestures for your arm.

Samiyah extends her left arm, a nicely healing wound along the length of it.

Aoide nods.
Aoide says (in common), 'not infected then'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'No.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'very good. I suppose I can have no complaint'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'So then he drank, and then it came back up..'.

Aoide winces. Ouch!

Samiyah wrinkles her nose in both disgust and irritation.
Samiyah says (in common), 'and then he ran away. Now, it makes him uncomfortable to see me.'.

Aoide frowns.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Which ... neither of us knew would happen'.

Aoide says (in common), 'so he is still hungry?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'the Say..Lady.. did not tell him about that part. or tell me.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'but she knew?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'She knew.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'did she say why?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I have not spoken to her directly of it but he has. I do not seek speech with her.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'no?'.

Samiyah says firmly, angrily, 'No.'

Aoide says (in common), 'I do not mean to pry, but..why? You once spoke freely with her it seemed'.

Samiyah breathes a moment, then tries to explain.

Samiyah says (in common), 'You know that her Belgarion attacked me for no reason'.

Aoide nods.
Aoide says (in common), 'Yes, I had heard'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Well, she knows that he was wrong - she apologized for him, but I told her that she could
not as it was his wrongdoing. Since then, there have been no apologies, no overtures and no forgiveness. She told me
he would be present - when I helped ghazkull - but I just ignored him, trying to keep the peace. But ignoring him,
angered her, and she took me to task for it, saying she would not stand for it in her home - that he was Ordained and
beloved and I would acknowledge him.'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I said I would not, and left. It angered her.'.

Aoide frowns.
Aoide says (in common), 'I can imagine... but I do not know that I can say you were wrong'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'As she and I spoke, he twice entered the room, empowering spheres and casting spells on
me. I do not know what they were but even though she was there to see it, to witness him doing it, it did not seem to
matter'.

Aoide frowns.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Seraph told me that she did not control Belgarion.. and I cannot disagree with him on that
any more... for I have seen it. So. I seek her out no longer.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'so... where will you go? The last I spoke to you, your Sahib had left you and now you find
no solace with the Lost Ones'.

Samiyah says softly, 'He heard my prayers. He returned.'.

Aoide nods.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Though He is angry with me for helping Ghazkull, for he knew of the bond that would be
created -- though I had not asked him about it.'.

Aoide nods.
Aoide frowns.
Aoide says (in common), 'well, it is creepy but you help. That is what you do'.

You nod.

Samiyah says (in common), 'As I said then, to Ghazkull, and to his Lady, and to the Sahib: If he was starving, and
ate bread, I would buy him bread. But he does not. so... It just upset me so that his own people stood by and watched
and did nothing to help their brother.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'I can see why'.

Aoide says (in common), 'and so you wander and fear sleep'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I do. Though Seraph promised me that I will be able to wake, if I need to rest. Though the
dreams will remain.'.
Samiyah absentmindedly slips her hand down to her hip, as if to check the position of a weapon that is not there.

Aoide says (in common), 'always?'.

Samiyah says carefully, choosing her words. "He has .. helped me.. so that I will not ... not lose track of who I am,
not become entangled in them. And that over time, I will become more accustomed to them. But they will remain.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'and if the items were destroyed?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'and how will he help you? He has already toyed with your soul more than once'.

Samiyah says firmly, 'Similus cannot be destroyed.'

Aoide says (in common), 'I know you trust him but...Does he even *know* who you are in order to preserve it?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'He does.He has held my spirit in his hands, when it slipped from my flesh, kept it safe
until I awoke once more.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'it seems to me that everything created can be destroyed, though maybe not by one weaker than
he who made it'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Similus was created by the Vampire God, Khore.. who exists that is more powerful, save the
Highest Ones? And why would They take any notice of such a plot?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'I do not know. I am no theorist'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Nor I...'.

Aoide says (in common), 'but there is power in three. Perhaps Three gods'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'but that which has a soul cannot truly die... and Similus has a soul.'.
Samiyah shivers slightly. 'I have felt it.'

Aoide says (in common), 'then perhaps it can be contained'.
Aoide comforts you.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Perhaps it could. I do not know. Did you pass along my warning?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'I have not yet seen either my lady or her hound but I will not forget'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Sagan said that he had received a message from the Wyldess so I assumed you told her... He
does not like the idea of the Nashites taking his .. the.. helm.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'no, I imagine he would not. We have not always been friendly with the Nashites'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'They are not entirely friendly folk.'.

Aoide says (in common), 'not always'.

Samiyah's quick giggle is a surprise.

Aoide smiles at you.

Samiyah rubs absentmindedly at her bloodshot, aching eyes.

Aoide says (in common), 'would you care to sleep? While I keep watch?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I am going to go and ...'.

Samiyah blinks in surprise.
Samiyah says (in common), 'You would do that?'.

Aoide says (in common), 'of course. You may pick the place, or you are welcome here. I will play for you if you
like'.

Samiyah smiles happily.

Aoide gets a black laquered ebony and brass clarinet from bag made from Daisy hide.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I would like that very much.'.

Aoide holds a black laquered ebony and brass clarinet in her hands.
Aoide closes the thick iron-bound doors.

Samiyah finds a bit of unoccupied fur rug.

Aoide plays a light, but slow tune.

Samiyah lays down, settling her head on her clasped hands.

Gentle clarinet music floats through the lodge.

Samiyah smiles, loosening her veil for comfort, and settling down.

Aoide peeks subtlely at Samiyah.
Aoide resumes playing, even softer.

Samiyah slides into sleep, her breathing slow and even.

Tension leaves the bard's form like water flowing from a leaky bucket.

Low tones of the instrument echo slightly.

Aoide begins a second song, a slow waltz this time.

She mumbles something softly, shifting in her sleep.
Sami's face twists in distress, her brows lowered, tension returning.

Aoide rests a hand lightly on Samiyah's arm.

The music takes on a lighter tone.

Samiyah sighs quietly, mumbling something sibilant.

Aoide transitions to slow chords, careful to avoid the minor keys.

Samiyah breathes deeply, evenly.

Aoide gets (Polished) Whistler's Flute from bag made from Daisy hide.
Aoide finishes her chords and quickly switches intruments.

Aoide stops using a black laquered ebony and brass clarinet.
Aoide wields (Polished) Whistler's Flute.

Aoide eyes the sleeping bard.

Aoide plays a little jig, but slower and quieter.

Sami's lips curve slightly, and she breathes a little contented sigh.

Aoide sways her feet back and forth with her song.

Samiyah murmurs something inaudible and shifts to her back, her hand falling to rest on her hips, fingers moving
slightly.

Aoide begins to experiment with the trill key.

The flute music stops.

Aoide begins to sing slowly.

Samiyah shifts once more, back to her side, curling up.
Her veil becomes unhooked, the ornaments catching on the fur rug, and the fabric slides down into a pile on the
floor.

Aoide gently repins the veil.

Aoide opens the thick iron-bound doors.

Samiyah startles at the sound.

Aoide sings a bit louder.
Aoide transitions to what she hopes is a desert lullaby.

Samiyah eases back down into sleep.

Strad bows deeply.
Strad gives the radiating scroll to Aoide.
Strad gives a spell score to Aoide.
Aoide thanks Strad heartily.

Aoide holds a finger to her lips.

Strad says (in common), '2 more, hands'.
Strad blushes.

Samiyah startles, sitting up.

Aoide whispers, "she is sleeping"

Samiyah's hand flies to her veil, checking its position.

Aoide says (in common), 'it's okay, Samiyah, it's just Strad'.

Aoide puts the radiating scroll in bag made from Captain Derrick hide.
Aoide puts a spell score in bag made from Captain Derrick hide.

Strad whispers "sorry, I didn't realize."
Strad blushes.

Strad gives a spell crystal to Aoide.
Strad gives a spell crystal to Aoide.

Aoide puts a spell crystal in bag made from Captain Derrick hide.
Aoide puts a spell crystal in bag made from Captain Derrick hide.

Strad bows slightly.

Samiyah lays back down, again pillowing her head on her arms with a weary sigh.

Aoide says (in common), 'know any lullabies, Strad?'.

Aoide sings, "Duermete mi hija"
Aoide sings, "Cabeza de aoyte"
Aoide sings, "Si no te duermes"
Aoide sings, "Te come el coyote"

Samiyah breathes slowly, evenly.

That might possibly have been a snore, and not a sigh or mumble...

Aoide covers a little chuckle with an extra verse.

Aoide closes her own eyes and begins to hum.

Samiyah groans softly, frowning in her sleep, one hand moving to ball into a fist at her chest.

Aoide looks nervously at Samiyah and switches songs.

Samiyah's lips move, as if casting spells, the movements of her arms small, but emphatic.
Samiyah wakes with a gasp, her heart racing.

Aoide says (in common), 'what's the matter?'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Fighting...'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'i was fighting... someone... '.
Samiyah searches for a name.

Samiyah says (in common), 'Kethran. '.

Aoide frowns.

Ink gossips (in sahuagin), 'WE LOVE INK AND NATI!'.

Aoide says (in common), 'Kethran would not attack you'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'I was ... I was not me.'.

Aoide frowns.
Aoide says (in common), 'well you rested for some time'.
Aoide says (in common), 'I hope that will prove restorative'.

Samiyah struggles to rise, rubbing at her eyes. She nods, flashing you a quick smile.
Samiyah says (in common), 'Thank you for warding my sleep with your song.'.
Samiyah says (in common), 'I should go.'.

Aoide nods.

Aoide says (in common), 'thank you for trusting me'.

Samiyah struggles to her feet, unsteady.

Aoide says (in common), 'please be careful'.

Samiyah says (in common), 'With my very life, Sayyida.'.

Aoide smiles happily.

Samiyah says (in common), 'The only, save my Sahib, I would say that to.'.

Samiyah touches her hand to her forehead, her lips, and her heart in a tribal gesture of respect.
Samiyah leaves west.
