The Riverhold Town Hall and School
[Exits: north south]
A single large, drafty room, this building acts as both the school
and the town hall for meetings.  Rough-hewn wooden benches, tables 
and desks are scattered about the room, ready to be moved into the
needed configuration depending on the purpose the chamber is being 
used for at the time. A thin slab of slate has been affixed to the 
west wall for use as a makeshift chalk board. The floor is made of 
wood planks, darkly stained in spots, with many warped by time and
the elements to show the ground underneath.  Southward, an archway 
has been built into and through the wall. Its framework appears to 
be that of a damaged boat, repurposed as a portal that allows exit
to the safety of the Guild Hall.

Gheorghe was last here, traveling north.

Squish! This part of the Town Square is deep in mud, caused by the 
sloshing buckets of village women trekking back to their homes with 
their daily water supply. The Square continues west and east, with
the well to the north. A fairly large and important-looking building  
lies to the south, a wooden sign proclaiming it to be the Town Hall. 
A scattered layer of corn stalks is visible in the mud, laid down in
a futile attempt to make passage safer and less filthy.

This is one of the busiest corners of the town square. The air is filled
the mingled scents of sweet, yeasty baking bread from Ye Tastie Bakerie 
to the south and salty dried fish from Kaleb's Seafood Extravaganza to 
the west. The two scents blend in a nose-twitching combination. The dirt 
road here is nice and firm, not muddy like much of the rest of the square,
as large quantities of planking has been laid down to keep the mire under
control.

Kaleb's Seafood Extravaganza

Massive dried fish hanging from the ceiling create obstacles to dodge when 
entering Kaleb's Seafood Extravaganza. Their glassy eyes stare unblinking,
the sheen matching that of the silvery scales upon their bodies. The rest
of the room is filled with pickling barrels and drying racks filled with
fish of many types. The odor of various types of fish in every stage of 
preservation fills the warehouse, making your eyes water. Fierce competition 
against the store across the road has caused Kaleb to reduce overhead by 
firing all his other assistants; not a popular move in the village.

The Western Side of the Town Square

The town square of Riverhold is a sad, dreary looking place. Nearly
everything is painted a uniform brown from the presence of mud, and
equally pervasive is the stench of fish. This is a filthy, muddy
rectangular court around a central well, which lies directly to the
east. Someone has attempted to control the level of mud in the area 
by laying down straw and dry corn stalks. Around the edges of the 
square are various shops and a hut or two. The docks and the river 
lie to the west.

On a Narrow Rutted Dirt Path

It would be easy to wrench an ankle in the deep wagon-wheel ruts that
slice through the semi-dry, sticky mud of this path. To the north and
south lie twin two-story buildings, from which waft a matching strong
fishy odor. The path meets the town square to the east. The Sava River
lies to the west, beyond the dock. A myriad of footprints can be seen 
on the path itself: Some human in appearance, others obviously those 
of a variety of animals. Some seemingly appear out of nowhere and head
off into the village. Above, a swirling vortex churns the air ominously.

vast chamber and solid gold columns reach all the way up to the high
ceiling.  A gorgeous gold and platinum altar rests in the center of
the room, glowing with a light that seems to seep out from the metals
themselves, and several tables, each decorated with multiple exquisite
tapestries and holy relics, sit against the walls of the temple.
